With the advent of LLMs and AI assistants, this scenario is becoming increasingly more realistic. As humans stop to learn, solve problems and communicate by themselves, degeneration is the inevitable result.
AI girl-/boyfriends will accelerate this development. They are one-sided relationships, only there to feed your narcissistic ego. There is no give-and-take, only your every need fulfilled.
The result will be that more people reject real relationships that require hard work, compromise and entail getting your feelings hurt sometimes.
We’ll degenerate into immature cry-babies, only focused on instant and constant gratification, ready to start a temper-tantrum the moment a slight bump in the road appears.
